  • Yellow Mealworm Exuviae
    product15
The yellow mealworm, commonly known as the "breadworm" or "yellow flour beetle", belongs to the genus Tenebrio in the family Tenebrionidae, order Coleoptera, class Insecta. Native to North America, it has a history of nearly 100 years of artificial cultivation in China. As a holometabolous insect, its life cycle goes through four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. The larval stage lasts approximately 120 days, during which it naturally molts 9 to 12 times. The exoskeleton shed during molting serves as the raw material for yellow mealworm exuviae products.

Tenebrio molitor mealworm powder nutritional composition chart showing crude protein 55%, crude fat 26%, fiber 6%, moisture 5%, ash 4% and carbohydrates
The protein profile of Tenebrio molitor (yellow mealworm) is generally characterized by a balanced amino acid composition, relatively high digestibility, and consistent protein yield averaging above 60% in processed forms, which makes it comparable to, and in certain formulations more adaptable than, other insect-based proteins such as cricket, black soldier fly, and silkworm pupae. Its suitability, however, depends on the intended application—feed, pet food, or aquaculture—and the nutritional priorities of each product line.
